How Afrivendor collects, uses, and protects your personal information, and the rights you have over it.

Last updated: 28 August 2026

Afrivendors Ltd (Company No. 15993741), 34-35 Hatton Garden, London EC1N 8DX, United Kingdom ("Afrivendor", "we", "us") is the data controller for the personal information we collect through Afrivendor. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, how we use it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, information created as you use the platform, and limited information from third parties.

  • Account information: name, email address, phone number, password, and profile details.
  • Verification information: for vendors, proof of ID and, where applicable, proof of business registration.
  • Booking information: requests for service, offers, messages between customers and vendors, appointment details, and reviews.
  • Payment information: billing details and transaction history. Card details are collected and processed by our payment provider, Stripe — we do not store your full card number.
  • Usage and device information: pages viewed, actions taken, IP address, browser and device type, collected automatically as you use the Site.
  • Support information: anything you share when you contact us or raise a dispute, including attached evidence such as photos or messages.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account, and verify vendor identity.
  • Operate the marketplace — matching requests with vendors, processing bookings, payments, and refunds.
  • Communicate with you about bookings, account activity, and support requests.
  • Investigate and resolve disputes and reports of unsafe or fraudulent behaviour.
  • Maintain the security of the platform and prevent fraud.
  • Meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including tax and accounting records.
  • With your consent, send you marketing communications, which you can opt out of at any time.

We rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract with you (running your account and bookings), our legitimate interests (keeping the platform safe and improving our services), legal obligation (record-keeping), and consent (marketing communications).

3. Who we share it with

We share the minimum information necessary to operate the marketplace:

  • Between customers and vendors: details needed to fulfil a booking, such as name, contact details relevant to the job, and booking specifics.
  • Service providers who support our operations, such as Stripe for payments, hosting and infrastructure providers, and customer support tools — under contracts that protect your information.
  • Professional advisers and regulators, where necessary for compliance, audits, or legal advice.
  • Law enforcement or other authorities, where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Afrivendor, our users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide our services. After you close your account, we retain certain information — such as transaction and booking records — for as long as required by law (for example tax and accounting rules) or for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes.

5. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to legal or legitimate retention needs.
  • Ask us to restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Request a copy of your information in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent, such as marketing.

You can request account deletion through Settings or by contacting us at contact@afrivendor.com. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in "Contact us" below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we have not handled your information properly.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Site works.

7. Security

We use technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure payment processing through Stripe — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.

8. Children's privacy

Afrivendor is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. International transfers

Some of our service providers, such as Stripe, may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision, to protect your information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or legal requirements. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site. Continuing to use Afrivendor after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
